i don’t think this is actually going to happen but yeah, if there was a mileage tax, then it would be illegal to tamper with your odometer. it would be a lot like cheating on your taxes, like lying about your income.
it’s impossible to say what the punishment would be, since it’s not even real yet…probably a fine.

Not at first. Later they will pass more laws making sure that your odometer is always in working order. They will most likely deny you registration and inspection if you don’t have a working one.

For me since my fuse box then would drive around and plug it back in once im parked its even easier for me since my fuse box cover went.
